Life What-If Simulator
What if you lose your job? Enter your essential monthly costs and your emergency fund, and see month by month how long the fund lasts — and the month it runs out.
Your numbers
Amounts are shown in the currency you select. No currency conversion is applied.
Formula and assumptions
Ending fund each month = starting fund − essential expenses − one-off cost that month; if that goes below zero, the fund runs out during that month.
Assumptions, stated plainly: the same essential expenses are paid every month, and no income, benefit, interest, fee, tax, or inflation is included — add those to your own numbers if they apply. The ending fund is never shown as a negative amount of money available: once the fund runs out, the months after it show 0. Enter your own currency; no currency conversion is done.
